Leo de Vroomen, born in the Netherlands, moved to London in 1965 to teach at the Central School of Art and Design, known today as Central St Martins.
His company De Vroomen Design was founded in 1976.
The distinctive De Vroomen style has gained an international reputation, and received many accolades, including twice the coveted De Beers Diamonds International Award.
Collectors and cognoscenti have been able to buy his work at prestigious stores such as Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue in the USA, and at selected independent jewellers worldwide.
In June 2002 Leo de Vroomen opened his shop in Belgravia's Elizabeth Street, London SW1. The boutique provides a contemporary showcase for a stunning collection of his jewellery.
