The work undertaken by Rook's books is, essentially, the creation of one-off, unusual commissions in leather, vellum, parchment and suede. Though, since starting trading in 1987, Rook's Books has acquired an international reputation for its leather bindings, Rook's Books is becoming increasingly well known for the creation of ornate and unusual commissions of a far more sculptural nature. In recent years items made by Rook's Books have been commissioned for the interiors of several 'Superyachts' as well as the interiors of private residences both in the UK and overseas. These items range from relatively commonplace objects like unusual frames or coffee tables, to sculptural and interior design work.
